He held prominent positions, such as President of the Sociedade Propaganda de Cascais and, later, as the first President of the Costa do Sol Tourism Board, becoming a true driving force behind local development. We owe Engineer Abreu Nunes such iconic projects as the first festive electric lighting at Boca do Inferno and the organization of the first equestrian competition—held at the site where the Manuel Possolo Municipal Racetrack stands today—among other initiatives. Passionate about culture and archaeology, he also fought for the preservation and designation of the Alapraia Caves as a national monument, even improving access for the local population.
