Nigerien desert blues guitarist Bombino, born in 1980, fled to Algeria as a child, learned guitar through videos of Jimi Hendrix and others, returned to Agadez to start his career, and gained international recognition after recording with Keith Richards in 2006, with his first album released in 2009.
